❖ Version History ❖
8th of October, 2020:
Today is the day. By this point in time enough of the base prototype for the game has been designed that it is becoming functionally playable. (Lots of balancing will still need to be done to the numbers and abilities, but the important thing is that the platform has been created and can now continually be improved upon).
This morning is the first time that I will be presenting all of the work that has happened thus far to the author, Matt Buchman. Up until now he and I have spent plenty of time talking back and forth through email about the game and the process of putting it together, but he has yet to see any of the parts or how they interact. Throughout this entire process I have also not yet officially had the design work “Approved” for final productions, so theoretically by the end of today everything that has been designed up until now may still be entirely denied & it is possible that I will need to start the whole process over from scratch.
~ The meeting goes really well ~
To my greatest pleasure, each and every one of the mechanics that Matt had requested in our earliest discussions & the mechanics that I have added to this game come together in a wonderful harmony that we are both happy with. There are of course plenty of small details that he would like edited to help accommodate for better vocabulary, and slightly more accurate details about the characters / abilities, but overall things are going really well with the concept and the design thus far.
The most important thing is that from here forward the project has been officially approved to move forward onto the next phase of the design. This is going to be the game. Now we will begin transitioning into the second phase of the creation process:
– Balancing the Mechanics
– Refining the Theme into the: Characters, Story, and Play of the Game
– Creating Digital Design for the Card Frames
– Selecting Stock Artwork & Textures for Card Art
– Selecting & Improving Parts for the Kit
– Beginning to get Initial Impressions from the Play Test Group
– And, Officially Setting up Play Tester Charts to keep track of Game Data
Though this is a monumental moment of success, there is still a very long way to climb before reaching the top of this mountain.
